La Vigna in Oregon

After a hard day volunteering at Nachusa Grasslands, we enjoy consistently good authentic Italian food you would never expect to find outside of Chicago. I ordered the Linguine Alla Puttanesca with grilled shrimp. It was delicious!!

First time there. Phenomenal filet mignon. Melted in my mouth.

This is a quaint and cozy little hole in the wall. The food is good and the staff is wonderful and friendly. Not to mention the wine is good, too.

La Vigna is one of the best restaurants in the area! Both the food and the service are excellent. I've never been disappointed with anything I've tried. The menu has pasta options as well as meat and fish dishes. They have great daily specials, also. Their soups are amazing, though if you prefer salad their house Italian dressing is also very good. They have a full-service bar with great wines and cocktails. Dessert options are all good, though their fresh sorbet (flavors vary often) is my favorite. I recommend this place all the time!

A hidden gem. The Hacker-Pschorr heffeweisen, the gorgonzola dressing, the salmon, and the ambiance -- all exquisite! I shall return.

A local favorite that also makes a great destination for the out-of-towners. Traditional Italian cuisine in a quaint and charming atmosphere. I tried the Lobster and Shrimp Pescatori for the first time! Perfect! And don't forget to ask for the martini menu.

Went back there for the first time in years a couple weeks ago and had a fantastic dinner. Great for the kids as well. They had a new butternut squash soup that was absolutely the best I've ever had. My wife had oysters as an appetizer and she said they were very fresh. Overall a great experience that I recommend to anybody looking for a night out that won't break the bank.

I can't say enough good things about this little restaurant. It is not what you expect to find in a small town in rural Illinois. The location is peaceful. The building is quaint and well decorated. The service is very friendly. And the food is better than most Chicago Italian restaurants costing twice as much. It is out of the way, but well worth the destination. You really should take the time to check this place out.

This is now and has been for the past 30 yrs. My go to restaurant for great food and a nice evening out. The chef is master with sauces. Such as the merlo sauce on a tender steak.....tasty. weekend specials are always a good Choice

Great service, decent wine selection, and typically delicious food. Their duck special is exceptional. Also, their Italian selections are very good and all entrees include soup or salad and bread. Wide selection of tasty desserts, too.

Consistently the best restaurant in Oregon, Illinois. Cuisine served in an intimate, yet casual, setting. Authentic Northern Italian food made fresh daily. (They make their own stock.) Professional, friendly wait staff. A little pricey for a small town but more than bargain by metro standards. Never, never had a bad meal in more than ten years of going there.

Great Italian restaurant! Fantastic food in a quiet atmosphere.

I love going here for the pomodora. It's a red sauce with Angel hair pasta that is outstanding and a great vegan dish. Everything my husband has tried, including the trout special is good. My in-laws love it here. Will always come back when we are in town!

Good service, good food, expect to spend 50 up

My family dined new year's eve and we were never once rushed to leave for new clients. Tracy our waitress was excellent. I was stuck on the menu and her suggestion was spot on. All meals for us were excellent.

It was the first time I have ever been. Love the service and the meal. I'LL recommend it to anyone else who is in the area 😁💥💥💥💥💥. Please keep up the GREAT work 🙏 and service.

Everything was wonderful, service is the best ever, the specials were excellent. Everything about the facility is five star, very happy, it came highly recommended from Pinehill Inn B&B, which is also a five star establishment. We were very happy with our stay in Oregon.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was quaint and enjoyable. Our dinners were quite good. Our meals were so large we had to bring half home.The red sauce was a little different flavor but its their family's recipe so it should be expected to taste different. More an old world recipe that haven't been Americanized with a lot of additional flavors and spices.

LaVigna has everything-Warm old world atmosphere, icy tequila tonics, friendly experienced servers, delicious bread, supurb entrees and delectible deserts. My evening at LaVigna with good friends was excellent.

We drive about one hour several times a year just because we like the food and the atmosphere. Everyone we have taken there seems to agree. The home made desserts are the best anywhere!

LaVigna is a gem. Proof that a rural small town restaurant can outshine a big city destination. Best Northern Italian food anywhere. Bookend from perfect bread to homemade gelato and sorbets the entrees are splendid and diverse. This isn't your childhood Italian Restaurant. The owner is authentic "foodee" and multigenerational staff work here is a testament to everything that is right about Restaurant. Enjoy a rural drive to a unique destination.

Delicious steak and chicken with a vinaigrette dressing over linguine.

The food was very good. The service was good. We will definitely go back for another “special” evening.
